PrizePicks Explained 2026: DFS Player Picks, Predict FCM & Agents

PrizePicks is easy to mis-file. Marketing leads with America’s #1 sports picks app and “Available in All 50 States.” Regulators and footers tell a narrower story: skill-based Player Picks (DFS pick’em) plus Team / Culture event contracts sold through an affiliated Futures Commission Merchant. That is not a licensed multi-state sportsbook, and it is not PrizePicks operating its own Designated Contract Market.

This is a taxonomy-first guide for builders. Dual-stack honesty first, then FCM / Kalshi primary sources, fees, the Welcome Play $5 / $150 terms, the 50-states marketing vs FAQ conflict, Odds API coverage, and what is safe to automate versus what the ToS treats as ban-tier.

What PrizePicks is (taxonomy)

SidePrize LLC d/b/a PrizePicks (Atlanta; ToS also names Performance Predictions LLC among affiliates). Consumer app products marketed on the homepage:

1. Players — projections on yards, points, and similar stats; pick More or Less; two picks minimum, six max; more picks mean bigger published payouts.
2. Teams — game winners, spreads, totals, and futures; can stack with Player Picks on eligible Power Play lineups (payment methods, Payout Boosts, and Protected Plays may be excluded).
3. Culture — non-sports Yes/No outcomes (movies, music, Bitcoin thresholds, politics, and similar topics marketed on the homepage).

Footer disclosure on prizepicks.com (fetched this cycle): PrizePicksPredict is a registered FCM offering Team Picks and Culture Picks as event contracts. Trading involves significant risk; not for all.

Honest label: hybrid DFS pick’em + FCM-intermediated event contracts. Adjacent to prediction markets; not a standalone DCM. Dual stack: Player Picks vs Predict

ToS §1 points FCM customers to predict-regulatory and the FCM Customer Agreement for cleared-swap / event-contract use. Combo Entries (DFS + Event Contract in one checkout) are separate legal legs under ToS §7.9 — do not model them as a single CLOB order.

Regulation: FCM registration and Kalshi partnership

Performance Predictions II — FCM / NFA

On September 23, 2025, PrizePicks announced that Performance Predictions II, LLC, a subsidiary of SidePrize LLC, became the first company affiliated with a fantasy sports operator to be registered as a Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) by the National Futures Association (NFA). Per that press release, the designation allows PrizePicks to accept member orders to buy and sell futures / event contracts offered by CFTC-regulated Designated Contract Markets.

The live predict-regulatory page titles Performance Predictions II, LLC, publishes monthly net-capital figures, cleared-swaps customer collateral reports, and links to Customer Agreement, Regulatory Disclosure, Risk Disclosure, Fee Schedule, and Exchange Documents. That is the primary public FCM disclosure surface — not a DCM order of designation for PrizePicks itself.

Kalshi partnership (primary)

PrizePicks’ November 14, 2025 press release — PrizePicks Launches Prediction Markets Offering with Kalshi — states a multi-year partnership with Kalshi and that “All event contracts listed on PrizePicks are Kalshi markets.” At launch, Team and/or Culture Picks were offered in 38 states and Washington, D.C. (company press). Kalshi CEO Tarek Mansour is quoted saying people can access Kalshi’s prediction markets within the PrizePicks app.

That makes PrizePicks Predict an FCM / broker-style distribution layer onto Kalshi’s DCM catalog for Team and Culture products. Secondary articles that also name Polymarket as a PrizePicks liquidity partner are not repeated here — no PrizePicks primary press confirming Polymarket distribution was verified this cycle.

State pressure on Kalshi sports event contracts can affect Team Picks even when Player Picks remain open. Federal FCM registration ≠ uninterrupted multi-state sports-contract access.

How picks and contracts work

Player Picks settle like DFS Contests: hit enough More/Less legs per Contest rules and receive the published multiplier / Contest payout. Injury Reboot / protection features are marketed separately (homepage cites Reboots saving lineups in the 2025 NFL season — company marketing claim).

Team and Culture work like retail event-contract tickets inside the PrizePicks app:

1. Open the Teams or Culture board.
2. Choose an outcome and see an estimated payout.
3. Set a maximum entry fee; the app buys whole contracts at the live price (help: no partial contracts).
4. Hold to close for settlement, or attempt an early sell when liquidity allows (fees apply on buy/sell; not on hold-to-close per help).

Help center (Team and Culture Picks, last updated May 16, 2026) states contract prices fluctuate between $0.00 and $1.00 with popularity, and checkout may warn if price moves before submit.

Fees

Predict (Team / Culture)

PrizePicks help states a service fee on every purchase or sale of a Team or Culture pick:

• Fee range: about $0.005–$0.02 per contract
• Totals round up to the nearest cent
• Fees add to entry on buys and subtract from proceeds on sells
• No service fee on payout if you hold until the predetermined closing date

A formal Fee Schedule PDF is linked from predict-regulatory; this guide quotes the help-center range rather than inventing a full probability-weighted table. Compare with Kalshi’s own published formula when modeling edge on the underlying DCM.

Player Picks (DFS)

PrizePicks does not publish a sportsbook-style vig table for Player Picks on the marketing homepage. Economics are embedded in projection multipliers and Contest structures. Do not invent a vig % for DFS legs — cross-check prop lines against sportsbooks and exchanges via Odds API instead.

Availability — qualify the “50 states” claim

Homepage marketing repeats “Available in All 50 States.” On the same site:

• FAQ answer Where can I play? says 49 states + the District of Columbia and links to a states page.
• Homepage availability strip notes “Only F2P Available in NV.”
• Help where-can-i-play states PrizePicks real-money games are not currently available in all 50 states, and lists differing footprints (help this cycle cites figures such as Player Picks ~36 states + D.C., Team ~35–36 states, Culture ~46 states + D.C. — counts drift across sections of the same article).

Do not treat homepage “50 states” as a literal real-money matrix. Confirm product eligibility in-app. This page intentionally does not reprint a full state-by-state table that could go stale within days.

Welcome promo — Play $5 / $150

Homepage hero this cycle: “Play $5 get $150 in Bonus Lineups if you win.”

Primary terms surfaces verified:

• newuseroffer — First $5+ lineup entered must win to receive $150 in Bonus Lineups; Bonus Lineups expire 7 days after issuance; lineups entered and Bonus Lineups awarded must include Player Picks; Offer Period begins July 20, 2026 and ends December 31, 2026 ET unless amended; new accounts only; geo-restricted.
• help-center/promotional-offers — first-time deposit required; entry fee at least $5; first qualifying lineup must win; Early Payout invalidates the welcome bonus eligibility; Bonus Lineup rewards must be used on Player Picks–only lineups even if the qualifying entry mixed products.

Homepage schema.org still mentioned an older “Play $5, Get $50” string in metadata — treat the visible Welcome Bonus copy and dedicated terms pages as authoritative for this cycle, and re-check before publishing affiliate or agent onboarding copy.

This is a conditional bonus (must win), not free cash. Do not model it as unconditional free credit in bankroll code.

Deposits, withdrawals, and KYC

Predict funding constraints (playbook): Team and Culture deposits are described as limited to Visa debit, MasterCard debit, and online banking due to legal requirements — stricter than general DFS cashier options may be.

Withdrawals (homepage FAQ): after successful ID verification, withdrawals typically process and appear in a bank account in less than 72 hours, with possible longer cases. ToS §9.6 also describes ACH / OCT / PayPal paths, a $10 minimum withdrawal (unless state law differs), and investigation holds — read live cashier disclosures for your product (DFS vs Predict) and jurisdiction.

KYC / identity verification is required for Team and Culture even if a member was previously verified for Player Picks (playbook). ToS requires accurate identity details (including SSN for Account creation) for Contests.

API and agent access

Official trading API — none published

As of this cycle (September 2026):

• No PrizePicks developer portal with documented REST/WebSocket order entry for DFS or Predict was found.
• https://docs.prizepicks.com was unreachable (no public developer docs served).
• Third-party scrapers and “partner-api” notebooks exist on the open web; those are not official, licensed agent interfaces and conflict with ToS automation bans below.

If PrizePicks later publishes a sanctioned API, verify auth, market IDs, and rate limits from primary docs before wiring execution.

The Odds API — prizepicks / us_dfs

The Odds API lists PrizePicks under US Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) Sites:

Peer keys in the same region include underdog, pick6, and dabble_us_dfs. PrizePicks is not listed under us_ex (that region covers Kalshi, Polymarket, Novig, ProphetX, BetOpenly).

Practical agent pattern (see also Odds API to Edge Detection):

1. Pull regions=us_dfs or bookmakers=prizepicks for prop projections.
2. Compare against sportsbook regions (us, us2) and exchange region us_ex (including Kalshi quotes that may underlie Team/Culture prices).
3. Surface EV / line-shop recommendations to a human, or execute on venues with official trade APIs such as Polymarket.
4. Do not claim automated PrizePicks lineup submission or Predict order entry.

Agent safe vs ban

Safe / reasonable today

• Ingesting PrizePicks props from The Odds API for research, CLV, and multi-venue comparison notebooks.
• Manual DFS and Predict activity in the official app after KYC, inside jurisdictions PrizePicks serves for that product.
• Architecting venue-agnostic signal code that can add a PrizePicks execution adapter later without rewriting models.
• Monitoring Kalshi directly when you care about the underlying Team/Culture contract book (Kalshi API path; see also DraftKings Predictions Guide for another consumer event-contract front door).

Unsafe / ban-tier

• PrizePicks ToS §16(l) (effective Aug 3, 2026): no robot, spider, or other automatic device/process/means to access the Site or App for any purpose, including monitoring or copying material.
• ToS §8.2: accumulating points, Contest wins, or Prizes through unauthorized scripts or other automated means is improper conduct that can mean disqualification, Prize forfeiture, and Account action.
• Browser automation or credential reuse against app.prizepicks.com / private APIs to submit lineups at scale.
• Assuming a hidden official trading API because Performance Predictions II is an FCM.
• Inventing state matrices, payout clocks, or DFS vig schedules not on primary pages.
• Ignoring product-specific geo rules (Player vs Team vs Culture) when recommending fills.

Where PrizePicks fits in the stack: consumer Layer 3 product, but for agents it currently behaves like a Layer 4 price input (observe via Odds API) with human Layer 3 execution.

How PrizePicks compares (compact)

Kalshi remains the default regulated automation venue. PrizePicks is a distribution and DFS front door — useful for prop surveillance and retail Predict access, not for bot order entry. Polymarket remains the default global/high-volume automation venue. DraftKings Predictions shares the “event-contract product without a public trade API” problem for agents; PrizePicks adds a large DFS prop surface those venues do not duplicate one-for-one.

Who should use PrizePicks: fans who want DFS + event contracts in one KYC’d app; researchers comparing DFS prop projections to sportsbooks and exchanges; teams designing venue-agnostic agents that may add PrizePicks execution later.

Who should look elsewhere: builders who need REST/WebSocket/FIX order entry this quarter — use Kalshi or Polymarket; anyone who requires a single nationwide real-money footprint without reading product-specific geo rules; strategies that assume PrizePicks is a sportsbook or a standalone DCM.

Is PrizePicks a sportsbook?

No. PrizePicks markets skill-based daily fantasy Player Picks under its Terms of Service and, separately, Team/Culture event contracts through PrizePicks Predict (Performance Predictions II, LLC), a CFTC-registered FCM and NFA member. Does PrizePicks have an API for bots?

PrizePicks has not published an official public trading API, SDK, or developer sandbox as of this guide. docs.prizepicks.com was unreachable this cycle. The Odds API exposes PrizePicks player-prop projections under region us_dfs and bookmaker key prizepicks for read-only monitoring. That is not order placement. PrizePicks ToS prohibit robots, spiders, and unauthorized scripts.

What is PrizePicks Predict?

PrizePicks Predict is the FCM layer behind Team Picks and Culture Picks. Performance Predictions II, LLC received NFA FCM registration (announced September 23, 2025). PrizePicks’ November 14, 2025 press release states a multi-year Kalshi partnership and that event contracts listed on PrizePicks are Kalshi markets.

Is PrizePicks available in all 50 states?

Marketing headlines say Available in All 50 States, but on-site copy is inconsistent: the FAQ cites 49 states + D.C., help/where-can-i-play states real-money games are not in all 50 states, and Nevada is listed as F2P only. Player, Team, and Culture products have different footprints — confirm eligibility in-app for your location and product.

What is the Welcome Play $5 / $150 offer?

As of this cycle the homepage promotes Play $5 get $150 in Bonus Lineups if you win. Official new-user terms (newuseroffer; help/promotional-offers) require a first qualifying $5+ lineup that wins, Player Picks in entered lineups, and Bonus Lineups that expire 7 days after issuance. Treat PrizePicks as a Layer 4 price input plus a manual Layer 3 venue. Ingest indicative DFS props via The Odds API (us_dfs / prizepicks). Compare to sportsbooks and to Kalshi quotes when modeling Team/Culture. Execute manually in the official app after KYC, or programmatically on venues with public trade APIs. Do not scrape private app endpoints or automate lineup submission.
