Betr Explained 2026: DFS Picks, Sweepstakes Social & Polymarket Predictions

Betr is easier to misclassify than most US consumer gaming apps. Marketing calls it a real-money gaming super-app. Regulators in Massachusetts and Ohio no longer list it as an operating sports wagering proprietor. What actually ships is a stack: DFS Picks, sweepstakes Social Sportsbook/Casino, Arcade, and a Polymarket Predictions shell — with homepage “Coming Soon” still fighting Help copy that talks like Predictions is already live.

3. Social Casino — slots/tables on the same Social/sweepstakes rails; marketing mentions redeemable cash prizes via the sweepstakes model.
4. Arcade — skill/P2P mobile games for real cash against opponents; Fantasy Wallet side.

Licence status: MA ceased, OH surrendered

Massachusetts. MassGaming’s Betr licensee page: as of February 16, 2024, Betr Holdings, Inc. d/b/a Betr is no longer a licensed sports wagering operator. Temporary Category 3 license was awarded Feb 23 2023; MA sportsbook opened Apr 25 2023; Category 3 is ceased.

Ohio. Ohio Casino Control Commission Sports Gaming Proprietor and Services Provider Applicants List dated June 15, 2026 lists Betr Holdings, Inc. (Betr) with status Surrendered and Currently Operating: No.

Historical Category 3 / MMSP experiments ≠ a current multi-state licensed sportsbook franchise. Treat Betr as DFS + sweepstakes + Predictions shell, not as DraftKings/FanDuel peer.

Product availability (Help matrix ≠ licence register)

Social Sportsbook & Casino (sweepstakes)

Dual wallets, deposits, payouts

Dual wallets (payments Help):

• Minimum deposit $10 (Fantasy link-new-method also $10). Social links via a purchase.
• Players 18–25 default $5,000/month combined deposit+purchase limit; one limit across both wallets.

• The Odds API: no US Betr bookmaker key. Region au key betr_au is a different Australian bookmaker — do not wire it into US Betr models.
• OpticOdds page /sportsbooks/betr-api markets third-party “Betr” odds aggregation. Label it third-party aggregator, not official Betr order entry. Ambiguity with AU Betr naming is possible; do not treat OpticOdds copy as Betr Holdings developer docs.

Safe vs unsafe automation

Safer (still read ToS; no placement):

• Parse public marketing, Help articles, PRs, and regulator pages for research agents.
• Watch Polymarket prices on Polymarket’s own APIs if your thesis is Predictions-related — then execute on Polymarket or manually in Betr if your account has Predictions.
• Human KYC’d app use with manual lineup entry / Social play / Predictions taps.

Ban-tier / ToS-hostile:

• Bots, scripts, or software-assisted auto-entry on Picks or Social (explicit Prohibited Activities).
• Automating contest selections, Gold Coin/Betr Cash grinding, or redemption bots.
• Session cookie replay, geo spoofing, proxy farms, multi-accounting, >3 devices.
• Treating api.betr.app as an unofficial trading API and pounding authenticated endpoints without a published partner program.
• Using betr_au Odds API data as if it were US Betr Picks/Social lines.

Bottom line for Layer 3 agents: Betr is a human-execution app. Signal elsewhere; click yourself — or don’t use Betr for the strategy.

Betr vs PrizePicks, FanDuel, Kalshi/Polymarket

PrizePicks (entity page not live on AgentBets this cycle — plain text only): DFS Player Picks plus a Predict FCM layer distributing Kalshi event contracts; Odds API us_dfs / prizepicks for indicative props; no official placement API. Betr’s parallel is DFS Picks + sweepstakes Social + Polymarket shell via IB — not the same regulatory story as PrizePicks Predict FCM.

FanDuel: actual state-licensed sportsbook with third-party odds coverage and no public bet API. Different animal from Betr Social “sportsbook” branding.

Polymarket / Kalshi: public developer stacks (CLOB / REST). Betr Predictions is a distribution shell onto Polymarket liquidity for eligible users — not a substitute for those APIs. Prefer native venues when you need automation.

Does Betr have an API for bots?

No public agent trading API or developer docs. The Odds API has no US Betr key — betr_au is a different Australian company. api.betr.app responds anonymously with a session-required error.
